BACOLOD City – Three people, including a child, were killed in separate road accidents here last Saturday and Monday.

The most recent incident occurred early Monday morning, resulting in the deaths of two motorcyclists at B.S. Aquino Drive in Barangay Villamonte at around 2:10 a.m.

Captain Francis Depasucat, head of Police Station 4, identified one of the fatalities as Argie Flores, while the other victim remains unidentified.

According to Depasucat, the two were reportedly speeding and collided with a center island. They were thrown off their motorcycle and suffered fatal head injuries.

Depasucat mentioned that there is a possibility that the victims were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

In another accident over the weekend, a four-year-old boy died after being run over by a pickup truck on Galo Street in Barangay 22.

Depasucat reported that the child was apparently hiding under the parked vehicle while playing with other children.

The 35-year-old driver of the pickup truck did not notice the child when he reversed the vehicle after getting in.

The child was rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here but succumbed to his injuries a few hours later, Depasucat stated.

He noted that the two parties have reached a preliminary agreement, and the driver of the pickup truck has offered assistance to the family of the deceased child.
