The Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA) Inc. recently concluded the 2024 Real Estate Developers Golf Cup at the prestigious Wack Wack Golf & Country Club. The tournament, which brought together industry leaders and enthusiasts, witnessed some outstanding performances, with Renato Mercado emerging as the Overall Champion of the tournament with the Low Net score.

The Men’s Class A category saw Clay Vasquez emerge as the Champion, with Josef Maganduga and Herbert Betz claiming the 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up positions, respectively. In the Men’s Class B category, Renato Mercado II earned the Champion title. Jeff Balmores and John Ramos secured the 2nd runner-up and 1st runner-up positions, respectively. Meanwhile, Kyle Chua secured the championship for the Men’s Class C category, followed by Lester Jan Pearson as 1st runner-up, and Ulysses Rosal at 2nd.
Other notable winners included Renato Mercado for the Lownet category, Crispin Carreon for Low Gross, Trung Duong for Nearest to the Pin, Renato Mercado IV for Most Accurate Drive, Herbert Betz for Longest Drive, and Kenny Tan for Longest Putt.
From its inauguration, the tournament aims to bring together the housing industry’s leading executives, owners, and managers for a day of sport, providing a platform to engage in discussions of the latest trends and developments that would shape the future of real estate development in the Philippines.
SHDA’s objective for the tournament is to foster unity, engaging its members from both the National and Regional Chapters, along with other housing stakeholders from the government sector, banking sector, other housing organizations, contractors, and suppliers. “Events like this cultivate a strong sense of camaraderie and belongingness in the industry that we all work in. It gives everyone a chance to network and discuss issues and events, but in a fun and relaxing environment,” said SHDA National President, Atty. Joy Manaog.
Continuing the success of last year’s tournament, the 2024 Real Estate Developers Cup has gathered around 100 industry leaders, professionals, and enthusiasts.
The ceremonial Tee Off was led by Mr. Alberto Pascual, President of PHILGUARANTEE; Undersecretary Samuel Young, Department Of Human Settlements and Urban Development; Mr. Jefferson Bongat, Director Emeritus of OSHDP; and Mr. Willard Kenneth Po, President of World Home Depot.
