The UPIC Class of 1957 Lower Division financed the digitalization of the University of the Philippines Visayas Health Services Unit (UPV-HSU) Iloilo City Campus Medical Records in March 2024. This is in preparation for the Community Health Information Tracking System (CHITS) that the HSU is putting in place for its operations.
Prior to this, the UPV HSU staff underwent a training on the Community Health Information Tracking System (CHITS) on January 24-26, 2024. The primary agenda for this training was the digitalization of HSU medical records. The training was conducted by Mr. Arturo M. Ongkeko Jr. MSc, RN trainer of CHITS who is a staff member of UP Diliman. Upon evaluation of the present computer set-up of HSU done by DISP, however, an upgrade was recommended.
Last year, Class 1957 donated for the purchase of medical equipment and furniture for the new HSU clinic at the New Admin Services Building. This was received by the HSU Iloilo City Campus personnel led by Dr. Chona Parreño, Medical Officer of the HSU and a UPHSI alumna herself. Hence, the remaining amount from the donation by the group was used to purchase the necessary equipment for the digitization in the amount of P44,000.00 for the following:
* AC 1200 Wifi router (tp-link)
* Epson EcoTank L3250 WiFi ready printer
* Epson EcoTank L-3210 printer
* Acer 20 monitor HD Led V6series
* APC UPS (2 units)
* 2 units RAM 8gb/512 to increase the memory of the old computers
* SD Cards (memory drives)
The UPIC Class of 1957 that gave the donation was spearheaded by Dr. Josefino Ceballos, Mrs. Ellen Roldan-Divinagracia, and Mrs. Leticia ‘Titit’ Chua. UPV HSU personnel and staff are grateful for the donation and are gearing up for the digitization of their operations soon. (Ms. AL Ramirez, IPO)
