Globe, a leading mobile provider, is assuring its customers of reliable service amidst national power supply issues, thanks to its advanced network resilience strategies.
The company has established multiple layers of power supply redundancies to maintain uninterrupted connectivity.
Joel Agustin, SVP and Head of Network Planning and Engineering at Globe, emphasized the company’s proactive approach.
“We understand the importance of maintaining seamless connectivity for our customers. Our unwavering dedication to network resilience is reflected in the comprehensive redundancy systems we have in place, ensuring that our services continue even during power outages,” Agustin said in a press statement.
With the onset of the summer season and the accompanying spike in electricity demand, Globe has reported zero downtime, a testament to its effective redundancy measures. The system includes multiple sets of batteries and generator sets, equipped with sufficient fuel reserves to last three full days of operations.
“Our facilities are designed with fail-safe mechanisms for continuous operation. Once commercial power is interrupted, our batteries immediately kick in for a six-second transition, followed by the activation of generator one. If needed, generator two will take over every four hours, ensuring uninterrupted power supply,” explained Agustin.
In addition to emergency power solutions, Globe’s core network facilities benefit from daily maintenance checks on batteries and fuel levels, ensuring readiness for any eventuality. The facilities are also housed in temperature-controlled rooms, optimizing energy efficiency and minimizing power waste.
Globe is not only focused on immediate operational resilience but also on long-term sustainability goals. The company aims to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change. This includes the adoption of energy-efficient solutions and the gradual phasing out of obsolete equipment.
