Electrician charged for unlicensed guns

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Police on Tuesday, May 14, filed illegal possession of firearms charges against an electrician following his arrest on Monday morning, May 13, in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Ibaca, President Roxas, Capiz.

Charges for violating Republic Act 10591, the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act,” were filed against alias “Ado,” 38, of the said village.

The buy-bust operation was conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Capiz in Barangay Ibaca, President Roxas, Capiz.

Recovered from the suspect were two caliber .45 pistols, four magazines, six live rounds, one sling bag, and P40,000 in buy-bust money, where only a P100 bill was real and the rest were boodle money.

The search warrant was issued by a Regional Trial Court judge.

The suspect is presently under the custody of CIDG-Capiz for proper disposition.
