The Rotary Club of Bacolod, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Makati and the Bacolod Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade, provided disaster relief to families affected by the Mt. Kanlaon volcanic eruption in La Carlota City and La Castellana, Negros Occidental.
The relief efforts, conducted on June 7 and June 12, 2024, included the distribution of rice, grocery packs, and water containers.
Past District Governor Edgar Sy led the distribution along with officers and members of the Rotary Club of Bacolod, the Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade, barangay officials, and volunteers.
As part of their social flagship program, “Tubig Para Sa Barangay,” the Rotary Club also carried out water distribution during the relief operations. The group visited Mayor Rhummyla Nicor-Mangilimutan at the La Castellana Municipal Hall to extend their support.
