Ex-inmate arrested for drugs, gun

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A former inmate was arrested again for possessing an unlicensed firearm and illegal drugs on Thursday morning, June 13, in Sigma, Capiz.

The police identified the suspect as Paolo Ebacuado, 31, of Barangay Amaga, Sigma, Capiz.

Recovered from the suspect were one .38 caliber revolver with three live rounds, seven sachets of shabu, and several drug paraphernalia.

The search warrant was issued by Executive Judge Judith D. Oredain-Tonogbanua of Regional Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, Mambusao, Capiz, on June 11, 2024.

Ebacuado was arrested and detained in 2016 for illegal drug trade and was released after a plea bargaining agreement.

He is presently under the custody of Sigma Municipal Police Station, while charges for violating RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act were filed against him before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office on Friday, June 14.

Meanwhile, a tricycle driver was arrested Thursday afternoon, June 13, in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Angub, Cuartero, Capiz.

The police identified the suspect as alias “Jojo,” 53, of Barangay Malagab-i of the same town.

Recovered from the suspect were three sachets of suspected shabu, P1,200 in buy-bust money, and a sling bag.

He is presently under the custody of Cuartero PNP Station, while charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against him before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
