To stay updated with the latest guidelines and to boost their conciliation and mediation skills, around 50 Single Entry Assistance Desk Officers (SEADOs) participated in the SEADOs Learning Session and Conference held on June 20, 2024.
The SEADOs, who are pivotal in the Department’s Single Entry Approach (SEnA) program, work to provide a swift, impartial, and cost-effective resolution to labor and employment disputes through conciliation and mediation.
“It is our goal to give fast and effective relief to labor issues and by enhancing the skills of our SEADOs guarantees a peaceful, speedy and less expensive pursuit of the workers’ rights and welfare,” said Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-6 Regional Director Atty. Sixto T. Rodriguez, Jr.
The session covered crucial updates, including Administrative Order No. 74 series of 2024, detailing the duties and responsibilities of SEADOs, and Administrative Order No. 123, which provides guidelines on the disposition of Requests for Assistance under the SEnA program.
Attendees received refresher courses on both online and on-site SEnA procedures, and were trained in the latest effective conciliation and mediation techniques for handling labor issues.
Additionally, they were instructed on the content-focused writing of conference minutes and agreements, highlighting essential details, as well as compliance with SEnA forms and reportorial requirements.
Resource persons for the event included National Conciliation and Mediation Board Regional Director Francis A. Gonzalo, Jr. and his staff, who shared their expertise and insights with the attendees.
