The Western Visayas arnisadors stole the limelight during the Palarong Pambansa Arnis event after collecting seven gold medals in the secondary boys and girls categories.

Going up against the best of the best arnisadors from all over the Philippines, Western Visayas, represented by the Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School, defied all the odds to continue their impressive outing in the Palarong Pambansa stage.

In the secondary boys category, Kyle Angelo Tiron handed Western Visayas its first gold medal after ruling the Individual Likha Anyo Single Weapon event.

Tiron then steered Western Visayas to another gold after teaming up with Marc Alquin Canto and Paul Angelo Tiron in the Team Synchronized Likha Anyo Single Weapon event.

Meanwhile, the duo of Kyle Angelo and Paul Angelo formed a trio with Carl Wayne Reyes to clinch another gold in the Team Synchronized Likha Anyo Double Weapon.

In the Team Synchronized Likha Anyo Espada y Daga category, Reyes, Tiron, and Canto sustained their momentum and steered Western Visayas to another gold.

The Tiron duo of Kyle Angelo and Paul Angelo then saved their best for last after bagging the last gold medal of the secondary boys in the Full Contact Padded Stick Bantamweight event.

Meanwhile, in the secondary girls category, the team of Clemence Marie Alag, Mary Clarlyn Alviar, and Emerald Jane Legaro joined hands to give Western Visayas the gold in the Espada y Daga.

Coaching and mentoring both the WV boys and girls arnisadors are Aniciel Banguiran, Mike Banguiran, and Ryan Robles.

After the well-deserved Palarong Pambansa win, the WV delegation would like to thank the Cabatuan Arnis Team, Cabatuan LGU, and to all the trainers and coaches who helped them in their gold medal journey.
