BACOLOD CITY – Grudges led a man to stab his uncle to death in Barangay Mambaroto, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, yesterday morning.

Police identified the victim as Jolito Mahilum, 54, of the said village.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Fernando Somblingo Jr., city police chief, said the victim was having a drinking session at his sister-in-law’s house when his 33-year-old nephew arrived and joined them.

While they were having a conversation, a heated argument ensued.

They were pacified, but on their way home, the suspect allegedly stabbed his uncle in the stomach.

The victim was declared dead at a hospital, while the suspect was arrested.

Somblingo said the victim and the suspect had previous misunderstandings, which might have escalated during the drinking session.
