RCMI partners with USA alumni, Museo Iloilo to ‘Mend Broken Hearts’

(UPDATED) The University of San Agustin (USA) Iloilo High School Batch 1972 alumni and Museo Iloilo recently joined the “Mend a Broken Heart”, a signature project of the multi-awarded Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo (RCMI).

The outreach activity offered free heart surgeries to 42 indigent patients at Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao, Iloilo City. USA Iloilo High School Batch ’72 and Museo Iloilo facilitated two of the patients.

“Mend a Broken Heart” was led by the officers and members of the Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo (RCMI), along with remarkable volunteer doctors, pediatric cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, and anesthesiologists, whose generosity made these successful health services possible.

RCMI is currently led by its president, Michael Eric Ho, for Rotary Year 2024-2025.

Museo Iloilo President Gina Sarabia-Espinosa heartily quipped, “Do good without expecting anything in return.”

Mrs. Espinosa is the wife of RCMI Past President and former Iloilo City Mayor Jose “Joe III” Espinosa.

“In grand celebration of the 120th founding anniversary of our alma mater, the University of San Agustin Iloilo, the essence of this noble offering will ensure future generations of students have enriching experiences that shaped our lives. God bless everyone!” added Sarabia-Espinosa.
