A total of 3,000 residents of Estancia, Iloilo received various forms of government assistance on August 15, bringing much-needed relief to indigent families and local vendors.
Of the total recipients, 1,500 indigent individuals were given financial aid of P3,000 each. The assistance was provided through the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Aid to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
Additionally, 1,000 residents received P2,000 each from the Local Government Support Fund, providing more financial relief for those in need.
Meanwhile, 500 market vendors participated in the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) TUPAD program, receiving Php4,800 as compensation for 10 days of work.
Aside from overseeing the aid distribution, the senator also made a personal visit to the construction site of Estancia’s Super Health Center.
The center is set to provide essential medical services, including laboratory facilities and treatment for minor health cases, significantly improving local access to healthcare.
The Super Health Center will offer a wide range of services such as outpatient care, diagnostic tests like x-rays and ultrasounds, and even minor surgeries.
Iloilo is set to have 27 such centers across the province, including the one in Estancia.
