The RP Blu Girls concluded their campaign in the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup with a strong finish, defeating Ireland 4-0 in Dallas, Texas.

The victory secured the Philippines a fifth-place finish in Group C, while Ireland ended the tournament winless in sixth place.

In a standout performance, Philippines’ starting pitcher Callie Christian led the charge by pitching a complete game shutout.

Christian allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out six batters, showcasing her skill and composure on the mound.

Her efforts did not stop there; she also made a significant impact at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs, contributing to the Blu Girls’ offensive success.

Mylia Perez also shone in the match, recording two hits in three at-bats and crossing the plate twice, further solidifying the team’s offensive presence.

Despite this victory, the Blu Girls were unable to secure a spot in the Finals 2025, as the top two teams from Group C—USA and Canada—advanced alongside Japan, Puerto Rico, Chinese Taipei, Mexico, Czechia, and China.

ASAPHIL President and Cebuana Lhuillier CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier expressed immense pride in the team’s performance throughout the tournament.

“I am incredibly proud of our girls for their determination and hard work throughout the tournament. They played with heart and displayed the exceptional talent that Philippine softball has to offer,” Lhuillier stated.

Lhuillier remained optimistic about the future, emphasizing the importance of this experience for the team’s growth.

“We will be with the girls every step of the way as they prepare for the next World Cup. This experience will only make them stronger and make them grow, as they’ll definitely be back hungry for more,” he added.
