The Uswag Ilonggo Partylist of Congressman Jojo Ang has inaugurated the disaster resilience office of Badiangan and the revamped sports center of Lambunao, highlighting the congressman’s initiative to create lasting positive impacts and improve the quality of life of the Ilonggos.

In Badiangan, Ang turned over on Monday, September 9, a P10.5 million multi-purpose building that will house the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).

The facility is designed to enhance the town’s ability to respond to emergencies and manage disaster-related risks effectively.

“One of the primary advocacies of the town of Badiangan is disaster preparedness and patient safety. That is why our multi-purpose building in our town will serve as the MDRRMO office,” he said.

To further enhance the MDRRMO’s delivery of services, the provincial government also turned over P2 million worth of patient transport vehicles; and P3.5 million worth of rescue vehicles.

The vehicles are intended to provide essential medical transportation for patients in need of urgent care, ensuring they receive timely medical attention.

Ang, who sees the need for a crucial vehicle, committed to distributing the same to other towns, noting that it is especially important for residents who might otherwise face difficulties accessing healthcare facilities quickly.

On the same day, the Uswag Ilonggo Partylist also inaugurated the renovated and air-conditioned sports center of Lambunao as it vows to foster the sports scene and community development of the province. The partylist particularly extended funding for the procurement of new bleachers and air conditioning units.

Ang said the major enhancements to Lambunao’s sports center is a significant step forward in promoting athletic excellence and providing recreational opportunities for residents and the nearby towns.

“This facility is expected to play a vital role for young athletes and the broader community in the third district,” he said.

The congressman emphasized that by offering a dedicated space for sports activities, the center will not only improve the quality of training and competition but also contribute to the overall well-being and engagement of the youth.

The two realization of the significant developmental projects for the two towns was made possible through the efforts of Uswag Ilonggo Partylist Regional Chairman Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr,  3rd District Congressman Lorenz Defensor, Badiangan Mayor Suzette Mamon, Lambunao Mayor Reynor Gonzales, and the Department of Public Works and Highways Region 6.

P24-M infra projects for Badiangan

On the sidelines of the inauguration in Badiangan, the provincial government turned over more than P24 million in assistance for the improvement of several infrastructure projects, particularly classrooms.

The funding will be used for various school projects, including the construction of gymnasiums, slope protection structures, multi-purpose covered gyms, stages, pathways, perimeter fences, classrooms, and the repair of school buildings.

Gov. Defensor emphasized that the assistance to schools is part of the Bulig Eskwela sang Probinsya program, which aims to promote an effective, relevant, and transformative educational system in the province.

“Badiangan is a small town. This is not a first class municipality and that is why we realized pouring much of the projects here. Small towns have small budgets and the provincial government is here to help augment it,” the governor said.

Gov. Defensor also stressed that he wants to exhaustively utilize the special education fund of the provincial government to improve the quality of education that the Ilonggo learners deserve.
