The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Iloilo aims to generate P3.8 million in sales from this year’s Artesanias de Iloilo Trade Fair, scheduled from Sept. 23 to 29 at Robinsons Place Iloilo.

During a media briefing on Sept. 11, the DTI emphasized the event’s role in empowering local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which are critical to the local economy. This year marks the fifth edition of the fair, showcasing a wide range of Ilonggo artisanal products.

“This year’s target revenue includes direct sales, pre-orders, and negotiations. Last year, we hit the target, generating P3.6 million, and we’re optimistic about surpassing that this year,” said Shayne G. Jornadal, Unit Head of the Industry Development Division.

Jornadal noted that 105 exhibitors have signed up—up from 85 participants last year—reflecting the growing success of the initiative.

The exhibitors represent various industries, including bamboo products (15 exhibitors), cacao (11), coffee (7), wearables and housewares (26), high-value coconut products (1), IT-BPM/startups (5), and processed food (30).

“From previous editions of Artesanias, we’ve seen improvements in our MSMEs. The number of exhibitors has increased, and their products have become more competitive,” Jornadal added.

The event not only celebrates the region’s tradition of craftsmanship but also serves as a platform for MSMEs to expand their market reach and foster partnerships that contribute to the local economy’s growth.

DTI-Iloilo continues to support MSMEs through programs like the Shared Service Facilities (SSF), which have enhanced production capacity in various municipalities and promoted sustainable enterprises.
