Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director Col. Bayani Razalan sustained minor injuries in a road crash on the morning of September 20 in Pototan, Iloilo.

Maj. Rolando Araño, IPPO spokesperson, said Razalan suffered a hematoma on his knee but had no other injuries.

His companions, a driver and a security officer, sustained minor scratches.

Razalan was reportedly on his way to San Dionisio to attend the graduation ceremony of the IPPO-initiated Tanod Academy program when the accident occurred.

His personal vehicle, a black Toyota Innova, was traveling through Barangay Macatol, Pototan, when it collided with a Toyota Canter truck.

Araño said the truck was in the opposite lane when it suddenly made a left turn without using its turn signal.

“The turn was so abrupt that Colonel Razalan’s driver had no choice but to crash into the truck’s side,” Araño explained.

The truck driver was unharmed and was allegedly on his way to a car wash when the incident occurred.

As a result of the crash, Razalan canceled his trip to San Dionisio and returned to camp.

However, he later attended the opening ceremony of the Tanod Academy training in Zarraga that same afternoon.
