Grand Salubong Motorcade Kicks Off MassKara 2024

BACOLOD CITY – The Bacolod Yuhum Foundation has officially announced the route for the Grand Salubong Motorcade as the 45th MassKara Festival kicks off today, Friday, October 11.

More than 60 sponsors will participate in the kickoff event, which will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Araneta Street and end at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC), according to a statement from Meneil Lopez on Thursday.

The motorcade will assemble near the KIA Motors showroom in Barangay Singcang-Airport and will proceed through Gonzaga, Gatuslao, North Capitol Road, and Lacson Street.

The Bacolod Traffic Authority Office is advising the public to expect heavy traffic along these routes.

Sponsors are also expected to distribute merchandise and candies to spectators.

From Lacson Street, the motorcade will continue along BS Aquino Drive, Hernaez Street in the South Public Market (Libertad), and Lacson-Burgos Street before heading toward Circumferential Road and making its final stop at the BCGC grounds by 5:50 p.m.

‘Bigger and Better MassKara’

The Bacolod City Local Government, in partnership with the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation, promises a bigger and better MassKara celebration this year for Bacolodnons and visitors alike.

Local pop-rock group Yuya and OPM sensation December Avenue will headline the festivities at the BCGC, serenading the crowd with hit songs, including “Sa Ngalan ng Pag-ibig,” “Kung Di Rin Lang Ikaw,” and “Kahit Di Mo Alam.”

The Grand Salubong will conclude with a dazzling fireworks display at midnight, marking the official start of the 45th MassKara Festival.
