Globe won the 2024 ASEAN Innovation Business Platform (AIBP) Enterprise Innovation Award in the Data and AI category, becoming one of only two winners from the Philippines.

Globe’s entry, the Next Best Offer (NBO) solution, an AI-powered machine learning engine, stood out among numerous submissions. Developed in-house by the company’s analytics team, NBO has revolutionized personalized marketing through cutting-edge technology.

This AI-driven platform uses reinforcement learning to analyze hundreds of customer behavior attributes. By processing these, NBO tailors marketing messages and offers in real time, maximizing the relevance of each interaction.

The platform has delivered exceptional results, underscoring Globe’s leadership in the Philippines’ telecom sector. Efficiency in retention campaigns improved by 304%, while upsell campaigns saw a 317% increase in offer acceptance rates.

“This award underscores Globe’s dedication to harnessing advanced technology to serve our customers better. The NBO platform allows us to offer timely and relevant content, ensuring that we stay responsive to the changing needs of our subscribers. We remain committed to innovating and leading in the digital space, particularly in how we engage with our customers,” said Ernest Cu, Globe President and CEO.

Globe’s success at AIBP highlights its forward-thinking approach to customer-centric digital transformation. With a market capitalization of US$5.3 billion and over 59.5 million mobile subscribers across the Philippines, Globe is setting a new standard for innovation in the local telecom industry.

The AIBP Enterprise Innovation Awards is an annual event recognizing groundbreaking digital transformation projects in Southeast Asia. This year’s competition received 113 submissions from the public and private sectors, with 56 projects shortlisted as finalists.

More than 40% of submissions featured AI or machine learning components, reflecting the growing role of these technologies in business. The rise of generative AI has sparked discussions about the potential applications and benefits of AI across industries in the region.

The award ceremonies were held at the AIBP Conference and Exhibition at City of Dreams Manila. Supported by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the conference highlighted significant progress in the country’s digital landscape and addressed the challenges local enterprises and public service organizations face in embracing digital transformation.
