CineEnkanto 2024: Celebrating Ilonggo Imagination via Cinema

Film enthusiasts, mark your calendars! On October 25 and 26, CineEnkanto will take over the UPV Cinematheque for two days of cinematic magic, showcasing the rich and imaginative world of Ilonggo storytelling.

The festival will feature eight short films that explore the weird, fantastical, horrific, and bizarre. CineEnkanto promises an unforgettable experience for lovers of unconventional and thought-provoking cinema.

One of the standout films is TAGLUGAR, written and directed by Vincent Montaño, presented by Instant Pancit Noodle Films and Project Moult Production. TAGLUGAR tells the chilling story of a young woman haunted by a malevolent entity. Desperate for relief, she seeks help from a folk healer with unorthodox methods, only to uncover a greater deception that plunges her deeper into the unknown.

The event will take place at the UPV Cinematheque, University of the Philippines Visayas. Showtimes are set for October 25 at 5:30 p.m., and on October 26 at 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. Tickets are priced at PHP 120.

CineEnkanto is organized by Apassa Projects in cooperation with the UPV Office of Initiatives in Culture and the Arts and the UPV Center for West Visayan Studies. This unique festival offers a chance to immerse yourself in Ilonggo culture and its distinct approach to storytelling, where myth, reality, and the supernatural intertwine.
