Ladies and gentlemen, the flashy Nick Kyrgios is back.
Known for his boldness and charisma when he entered the professional tennis scene, Kyrgios will aim to grab an elusive Grand Slam title as he confirms his comeback in the sport after enduring a series of injuries that kept him out for almost two years.
Kyrgios remained staying on the sidelines and acted as a spectator in all Grand Slam and ATP Major tournaments after dealing with two major knee operations and a rare wrist injury.
According to Kyrgios, his doctor said that his rare wrist condition would make it impossible for him to return to competitive tennis, but after a miraculous rehabilitation process, he thinks that this is the best time for him to return and embrace the bright lights again.
“But I said whatever, just try and get me another two, three years of my career. Everything has gone semi-well and I will be playing the Australia Open this summer,” said Kyrgios.
For the past two years, Kyrgios spent his time doing part-time commentaries in different Grand Slam tournaments.
In some other ATP tournaments, Kyrgios can also be spotted as a spectator in the crowd, enjoying the sport that he loves the most.
Kyrgios recently said that the ultimate motivation that pushed him in making his way back is bagging his first-ever Grand Slam trophy.
During his pre-injury days, Kyrgios reached numerous semifinal stages and made the 2022 Wimbledon grand finals, perhaps his greatest achievement in the Grand Slam scene.
Throughout his career, Kyrgios won a total of seven ATP Tour singles titles and achieved his highest rank as the world no. 13 male tennis player.
“I just want to be out there, lighting up the crowd and playing in front of my own country. Whether it is good or bad, it will certainly be a lot of fun,” added Kyrgios.
