DTI Guimaras Hosts Successful NC Mobile CARE Event in Buenavista

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Guimaras and Negosyo Center Buenavista successfully hosted the NC MOBILE CARE event on Oct. 17, 2024. The event directly benefitted 50 participants from Barangay San Nicolas by providing essential knowledge to enhance their business operations and support sustainable practices.

The event attracted a diverse group of attendees, including 10 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), eight Indigenous People, one person with a disability, four senior citizens, 16 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), and 11 potential MSMEs.

Led by Officer-in-Charge Juvy D. Benliro and facilitated by Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist Nesgen Rhea C. Zerrudo, the event included detailed discussions on various DTI programs and services. Key presentations included:

  • DTI Programs and Services: Presented by Michelle Toledano from Negosyo Center Nueva Valencia, highlighting resources available for local entrepreneurs.
  • Entrepreneurship Seminar: Discussed by Ruth G. Penuela from Negosyo Center Buenavista, focusing on starting or scaling a business.
  • Consumer Awareness: Presented by Melicia U. Pait, Trade and Industry Development Specialist, emphasizing consumer rights and responsibilities.
  • P3 Loan Program: Explained by Joyce Gedalanga from SB Corporation, providing insights into funding options for small businesses.

Participants received educational materials as reference tools to deepen their understanding of the topics discussed. The event concluded with a Q&A session, during which Gedalanga addressed questions about the P3 Loan Program. Six participants also sought guidance on Business Name Registration, reflecting the community’s eagerness to formalize and grow their enterprises.

The event demonstrated DTI’s commitment to empowering small businesses, promoting entrepreneurship, and ensuring consumer protection. By facilitating access to critical information and resources, DTI continues to nurture a more robust and sustainable local economy.
