Evo City Run Draws Over 1,500 Participants in Pre-Rock ‘n’ Roll Event

KAWIT, Cavite — More than 1,500 runners hit the streets on October 20, 2024, for the first-ever Evo City Front Act Run, a prelude to the highly anticipated ASICS Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Manila. Held in the progressive estate of Evo City, the event combined health, music, and community, offering a vibrant atmosphere that previewed the larger Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon slated for November.

With 1,759 registered participants, the race featured three categories: a half marathon, 10 km, and 5 km. Runners enjoyed upbeat music along the course, which mirrored the signature style of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series. DJ Marc Marasigan electrified the event with his beats, while athlete Nikko Huelgas led runners from the starting line.

“We wanted to make the musical fun run class more accessible, especially for new runners who want to take up the hobby, as well as families who want to introduce an active lifestyle to their kids,” said Princess Galura, General Manager of The IRONMAN Group Philippines. The event aimed to bring together a diverse community of runners, from seasoned athletes to casual joggers.

Evo City, developed by Ayala Land, served as the perfect backdrop with its balanced mix of residential, business, and green spaces, providing runners with a scenic route. This community-focused run allowed participants to assess their readiness for future races while making the sport more inclusive.

Sponsors and partners such as 2Go, Ion Advance Electrolyte Drink, Century Tuna, and Gardenia contributed to the event’s success, ensuring participants were well-supported with various freebies and refreshments.

The Evo City Front Act Run was more than just a fitness event; it was a celebration of movement, music, and the collective spirit of the running community, setting the stage for the upcoming Rock ‘n’ Roll Manila marathon.
