A fisherman accused of rape was arrested late in the morning on October 27 in San Dionisio, Iloilo.
The suspect, identified as “Albin,” 30, was apprehended at his home in Barangay Sua, San Dionisio.
Members of the San Dionisio Municipal Police Station arrested him based on a warrant for rape by carnal knowledge, docketed under Criminal Case No. 2024-11896.
Judge Jose Mauricio Gomez of the 6th Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 71 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, issued the arrest warrant on October 11, 2024.
No bail was recommended for the suspect’s temporary release.
Captain Edward Villanis, San Dionisio police chief, said Albin is the town’s most wanted man and ranks fourth on the list of Iloilo province’s most wanted.
The alleged rape occurred more than two years ago.
The suspect initially hid in Metro Manila but returned to San Dionisio when no warrant had yet been issued against him.
