The Golden State Warriors will have to brace for a tough NBA regular season stretch without Stephen Curry after the franchise player was diagnosed with a left peroneal strain in his ankle.

The update was confirmed by the Golden State management on October 29, 2024, and added that Curry might miss multiple games due to the severity of his injury.

On the bright side, the Warriors reiterated that Curry’s timeframe of return might be after 3-4 games, which means that he can come back next week to boost Golden State’s grueling road schedule.

Curry’s Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) result showed no structural damage but he will have to sit out several games and will be re-evaluated after two days.

The veteran floor general suffered his injury during their loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Clippers, 112-104, on October 28, 2024.

Curry tweaked his left ankle late in the third but would return briefly in the fourth to run head coach Steve Kerr’s plays when they were playing catch up.

However, Curry exited the game for good with still 7:55 remaining in the fourth after feeling discomfort in moving laterally.

The Warriors are currently having a good start in their 2024-2025 NBA campaign after blowing out the Portland Trailblazers and the Utah Jazz for back-to-back wins.

Their winning streak was then put to an end by Los Angeles after the trio of James Harden, Ivica Zubac, and Norman Powell combined for 66 points to hold off Golden State’s early rampage.

In the games that Golden State might play without Curry, the Warriors will be facing Brandon Ingram and the New Orleans Pelicans and the rolling Houston Rockets.
