Save the Children Philippines and Sining Salaysay are launching “Munting Mundo ni Nene,” a compelling public art exhibit that brings the stories of young girls in the Philippines to life.
This nationwide exhibit, timed with the celebration of International Day of the Girl and National Children’s Month, sheds light on the challenges girls face, amplifying their voices and advocating for their rights. Through powerful art and storytelling, this initiative underscores a commitment to a future where every girl is safe, empowered, and supported by her community.
The exhibit highlights key issues impacting young girls, such as adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights (ASRHR), gender-based violence (GBV), and the complex gender power dynamics that shape their lives. Each installation combines art and data-driven storytelling to reveal the often-hidden emotional and physical burdens these girls carry daily. By exploring these displays, visitors are encouraged to reflect on their own roles in fostering a safe and supportive environment for girls, taking concrete steps toward advocacy and community action.
Through this interactive experience, visitors will encounter immersive displays that go beyond traditional art, weaving together data and personal stories. Each part of the exhibit is designed to prompt dialogue and raise awareness, aiming to inspire support for policies and programs that protect and empower girls. This initiative calls on all sectors of society to prioritize the health, safety, and rights of young girls, underscoring that a collaborative approach is essential to meaningful change.
Launching on November 5, the exhibit will feature messages from adolescent girls themselves, who will speak to the effects of climate change, ASRHR, and the realities of GBV in their lives. Their voices will be joined by those of key organizations, including the Commission on Population and Development, the Council for the Welfare of Children, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development, lending their support to this vital cause.
The exhibit will be available at the following locations and dates: Trinoma Cinema Lobby, 4F in Luzon from November 3 to 7, Gateway Gallery, Gateway Tower in Luzon from November 8 to 17, Robinsons Tacloban in Visayas on November 8, and SM City General Santos City Mall Event Center in Mindanao from November 25 to 29. Each venue offers a unique opportunity for communities to engage with these critical issues and join in advocating for change.
We invite everyone to join us in this movement to create a brighter future for and with children. Through Munting Mundo ni Nene, Save the Children Philippines and Sining Salaysay aim to ignite a lasting wave of empathy, advocacy, and action that transforms the lives of young girls across the Philippines.
