GCash, the Philippines’ leading finance super app and largest cashless ecosystem, has become a popular savings platform for around 10 million Filipinos, thanks to its easy-to-use interface, quick application, and interest rates of up to 2.6%.
Now, GCash is expanding GSave to international mobile numbers through a partnership with CIMB Bank, the Philippines’ top digital-only bank, offering overseas Filipinos a secure and accessible savings tool tailored for them.
“Life as an overseas Filipino can be demanding, with much of their income often directed toward remittances,” said Paul Albano, general manager of GCash International. “GSave offers a safe and convenient way for them to grow their hard-earned money, ensuring financial security for the future.”
“As a digital-only bank, CIMB is proud to partner with GCash in providing seamless, secure, and accessible financial solutions to overseas Filipinos,” said CIMB Bank Philippines CEO Vijay Manoharan. “GSave helps Filipinos abroad build a solid financial foundation, ensuring that their money not only grows but is also protected for the future they envision.”
GSave offers competitive benefits, including a baseline interest rate of 2.6%—up to 10 times higher than many other Philippine banks—no minimum balance requirement, and up to 25% interest annually through CIMB’s booster offers. GSave accounts are insured by the PDIC for up to PHP 500,000, providing peace of mind to overseas Filipinos.
Overseas Filipinos in 16 countries can open a GSave account in three simple steps: 1) Download GCash and register with their international mobile number, 2) go to GSave on the GCash dashboard and select “Open a Savings Account,” and 3) fill out the required information and make the first deposit to start saving.
“We understand the challenges faced by our Filipino heroes abroad,” Albano said. “The launch of GSave on GCash Overseas reinforces our commitment to their financial health and wellness, allowing them to save for emergencies or to fulfill their dream of returning home with a secure financial cushion.”
As GCash marks its 20th anniversary, it remains committed to digital financial inclusion for Filipinos, wherever they may be.
GCash is now available in 16 countries, covering 90% of Filipinos abroad, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar in the Middle East, as well as the United Kingdom and Italy in Europe. Overseas Filipinos can access GCash using their international mobile numbers.
