BACOLOD CITY—Police are investigating a possible grudge stemming from an undisclosed misunderstanding as the motive behind the killing of a former taxi manager, now an electric bike (e-bike) driver, in Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday morning.

The victim was identified as Domingo Superficial, 54, a resident of the same village.

Police Lt. Col. Mark Anthony Darroca, Silay police chief, said Superficial was sitting on his e-bike parked outside his residence at around 8:45 a.m. when two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle arrived and shot him in the head. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Officers recovered five spent .45 caliber cartridges at the scene.

Police obtained closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage that captured the perpetrators’ exit route, but their faces were obscured by helmets.

Despite this obstacle, Darroca said they have already identified persons of interest.
