A manhunt is underway for a village official accused of killing a 34-year-old man in Cabatuan, Iloilo.
Police identified the suspect only as alias Donald, a 38-year-old barangay kagawad from Calawagan, Cabatuan.
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on November 10 while the victim, Rasmol Mamon, 34, was driving his motorcycle.
The suspect allegedly shot Mamon in the forehead.
Mamon was taken to Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospital in Cabatuan but did not survive.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after the incident.
Cabatuan police chief, Capt. Aileen Lacrite, said they are investigating whether Donald ambushed Mamon or if their encounter was by chance.
It is also unclear if an argument preceded the shooting.
Lacrite noted that there was known animosity between Donald and Mamon.
The victim was reportedly known for causing disturbances in the village when intoxicated.
Donald was often the one who attempted to calm him down, according to police.
Authorities have yet to receive any indication that the suspect intends to surrender.
