BACOLOD CITY—The Bacolod City Comprehensive Health Program (BacCHP), under the initiative and support of Mayor Albee Benitez, hosted a post-health summit meeting with various health stakeholders on Monday at L’Fisher Hotel.
The event was attended by Mayor Benitez, Committee on Health Chairman and Councilor Kalaw Puentevella, BacCHP Officer and Special Assistant to the Mayor Engr. Mae Cuaycong, and Special Adviser for Health Dr. Eric Saratan.
Representatives from seven partner hospitals of the BacCHP program also participated. These included Bacolod Adventist Medical Center (BAMC), Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH), The Doctors’ Hospital, Riverside Medical Center, Metro Bacolod General Hospital (MBGH), South Bacolod General Hospital (SBGH), and Bacolod Queen of Mercy Hospital (BQMH).
PhilHealth and Department of Health-Negros Island Region (DOH-NIR) officials were also present, including PhilHealth Regional Vice President Lazaro Tabsing, PHIC Medical Specialist Dr. Amalia Fernandez, Arlie Marmolejo, Darren Magbanua, Local Health Insurance Office-Bacolod’s Edgar Yocariza, DOH-NIR representatives Dr. John Vincent Alabado, and Adrian Hort D. Ramon.
The meeting was divided into two sessions. Discussions with PhilHealth and DOH centered on ways to assist hospitals in streamlining the processing of their PhilHealth claims to reduce the return of claims and denials.
The dialogue also addressed the efficient utilization of the Medical Assistance for Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients Program (MAIFIPP).
