QUEZON CITY—Save the Children Philippines has launched the #LahatDapatSafe campaign to address the urgent needs of over one million children left vulnerable by a series of typhoons that battered the Philippines in recent months.
The typhoons—Julian, Kristine, Leon, Marce, and Nica—have displaced families, disrupted education, and left children exposed to hunger, disease, and trauma. Save the Children is spearheading efforts to provide food, hygiene kits, educational materials, and emotional support to affected areas, including Camarines Sur, Batangas, and Calabarzon.
“I am afraid to sleep because the wind is so strong,” shared 12-year-old Mica, who lost her home during Typhoon Julian. “The rain reminds me of that terrible night when we lost everything.”
Mica’s fears are shared by many children who face compounded risks in the wake of these disasters. Save the Children’s campaign seeks to ensure their safety and recovery, mobilizing partners and donors to deliver swift and effective aid.
“A child’s safety and well-being should never be at risk, especially during such a critical time,” said Atty. Alberto Muyot, CEO of Save the Children Philippines. “The #LahatDapatSafe campaign ensures that children affected by these disasters receive the immediate relief and long-term support they need to recover and thrive.”
Corporate partners such as Lifestrong Marketing Inc. and FWD are helping to sustain the relief efforts. The Miss Philippines and Mister Pilipinas Worldwide pageant titleholders have also joined the campaign, actively packing hygiene kits and essential household supplies for distribution.
Save the Children emphasized the long-term developmental risks posed by displacement and trauma. Children affected by these typhoons require not only immediate relief but ongoing resources to rebuild their futures.
