BACOLOD CITY – Police arrested six individuals and confiscated PHP 748,000 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation at Purok Malvar Cubay, Barangay Villamonte, early Wednesday.
Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) identified the suspects as alias “Friechbon,” 40, of Barangay 41; alias “Richard,” 43, and “Roy,” 26, both from Barangay Villamonte; alias “Peter,” 28, and “Joel,” 24, both from Barangay Estefania; and “Benmar,” 34, of Isabela, Negros Occidental.
Police seized approximately 10 grams of suspected shabu, along with drug paraphernalia, during the operation.
Capt. Genus David, assistant chief of the CDEU, said Friechbon was the primary target of the operation, having been identified as allegedly engaging in the illegal drug trade in the area.
David said the investigation took about a month to validate information, which eventually led to the buy-bust and the dismantling of Friechbon’s alleged drug den.
He added that the other five suspects were allegedly caught holding a pot session in a small room where Friechbon also conducted transactions with customers.
The illegal drugs were reportedly sourced from within the city and repacked for sale, according to David.
Drug charges will be filed against the suspects on Thursday, Nov. 28.
All six suspects are currently detained at Police Station 4.
