Police arrested 47 wanted persons across Western Visayas during two days of intensified manhunt operations from December 2 to 3.
The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) reported that the arrests included 10 most wanted persons (MWPs) and 37 categorized as other wanted persons (OWPs).
The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOcPPO) recorded the highest number of arrests with 16, followed by the Antique Police Provincial Office with 11.
The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) made six arrests, while the Iloilo Provincial Police Office (Iloilo PPO) and Bacolod City Police Office reported five arrests each. Capiz PPO and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 each apprehended two individuals.
Brigadier General Jack Wanky, Western Visayas police chief, emphasized the importance of apprehending wanted persons in the region’s anti-criminality efforts.
“These arrests manifest our firm commitment to pursuing the remaining wanted persons in the region. With this gain, we extend our deep gratitude to the members of the community for providing us with vital information that led to the arrest of these outlaws,” Wanky said.
He also commended the tracker teams and their unit commanders for their diligence and effectiveness in tracking down law violators.
