Iloilo City to Release SRI, Gratuity Pay

By Mariela Angella Oladive

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas announced that the city government is preparing to release the Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) for regular employees and gratuity pay for casual employees.

“The funds for the SRI are already prepared, and we are getting ready for the special session on Monday [next week].

“We are just waiting for the go-signal for the gratuity pay so that the job hires will also receive their share,” Treñas said Monday, Dec. 16.

The mayor emphasized that Iloilo City has sufficient funds, dismissing claims that the city lacks financial resources.

“We also want to address claims from others that the city has no funds—the city has more than enough, and we are even expecting a surplus next year because we manage our finances well and cut back on unnecessary expenses,” he added.

The exact amount of the SRI and gratuity pay is yet to be determined, as the city awaits guidance from an executive order issued by the President.

Eligible employees from the Executive Department may receive a one-time SRI benefit of up to PHP20,000, subject to government regulations.

Additionally, qualified City Hall employees are set to receive a collective negotiation agreement (CNA) bonus of PHP30,000, which will be distributed between Dec. 15 and 30.
