BACOLOD CITY – Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) confiscated 112 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 761,600 during a buy-bust operation at Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2, on Monday.

The suspect, identified as “Boy,” 49, of Barangay Sum-ag, was arrested and classified as a high-value individual.

Police Lt. Richard Legada, assistant CDEU chief, said the suspect was previously arrested for a drug offense in 2015. However, authorities are unsure how he was released from jail.

This marks his second arrest for the same offense. According to Legada, police had validated information indicating the suspect had returned to the illegal drug trade.

Legada revealed that the suspect typically conducted transactions at a friend’s house in Barangay 2. He was alone during the operation, and the investigation is ongoing.

The suspect is currently detained at Police Station 2.

Meanwhile, in Negros Occidental, another suspect, identified as “Jeje,” 45, of Barangay 3 Poblacion, Himamaylan City, was apprehended in a drug bust on Tuesday.

Police recovered 15 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 102,000 from Jeje.
