Affordable Logistics Services Boosted by PHLPost Upgrades

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has introduced an affordable logistics service targeting government offices and the public, supported by its newly expanded fleet of 18 six-wheeler and four four-wheeler trucks. The service will handle the pickup, wrapping, and delivery of office equipment and other bulk items.

These new vehicles, alongside PHLPost’s existing mail vans, are expected to enhance delivery efficiency and improve the seamless handling of goods for customers. The fleet upgrade is a significant step in strengthening PHLPost’s position in the logistics market, particularly in last-mile parcel delivery services.

The strategic shift to logistics and e-commerce-related services is part of PHLPost’s response to the growing demand for reliable delivery solutions amid the boom in e-commerce and logistics.

Postmaster General Luis Carlos emphasized the importance of this development in meeting the needs of institutional mailers and expanding PHLPost’s reach in the logistics market.

“The newly acquired postal vehicles will beef up the e-commerce and logistics delivery business of the postal service,” Carlos said. “With these brand-new trucks, there is a bigger chance and opportunity for PHLPost to enter the e-commerce and logistics market this year.”

‘Postal Trinity’

PHLPost is also advancing its services through its “Postal Trinity” program, which includes three key initiatives aimed at modernizing and expanding its logistics operations.

The first component involves the establishment of Barangay Postal Stations nationwide to ensure efficient last-mile delivery, even in remote areas of the Philippines.

The second initiative is the implementation of a new seven-digit alphanumeric ZIP code system, replacing the old four-digit format. This standardization aims to improve addressing systems and delivery accuracy nationwide.

Lastly, the launch of the “Kartero App” introduces a Real-Time Visibility system to modernize mail operations. This technology will provide customers with better tracking capabilities, enhancing efficiency and transparency in delivery processes.

“These initiatives, alongside our fleet upgrades, will strengthen logistics services across the country,” Carlos added.
