The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Negros Occidental invites the public to join the celebration of the 35th Civil Registration Month with the theme, “Building a Resilient, Agile, and Future-Fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) System.”
Interim Regional Director and Concurrent Chief Statistical Specialist John F. Campomanes encourages citizens to take part in the month-long observance, which runs from February 1 to February 28, 2025.
A series of educational activities and community outreach programs will be conducted nationwide to raise awareness of the importance of civil registration. These include workshops, information dissemination, and initiatives encouraging timely registration of vital events.
Scheduled Activities in Negros Occidental
To mark the occasion, the PSA Provincial Statistical Office of Negros Occidental has prepared the following events:
- February 7, 2025: Opening Ceremony at GT 888 Mall Bacolod
- February 19, 2025: Civil Registration and Vital Statistics 101 Seminar for School Registrars
- February 21, 2025: Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Quiz Bee for Local Civil Registrars and PSA Personnel
- February 26, 2025: Closing Ceremony at GT 888 Mall Bacolod
In addition to these activities, Junior High School and Senior High School students are invited to join the ePoster-Making Contest, while an Infographics Contest is being organized for Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) personnel.
The PSA – Negros Occidental will also hold a charity event for the elderly at St. Vincent’s Home in Bacolod City.
Clients requesting civil registry documents at the Civil Registration System (CRS) outlet will have a chance to win prizes as part of the celebration.
Community Involvement and Social Media Updates
Members of the Provincial Association of Civil Registrars in Negros Occidental have also planned their own activities throughout February in support of Civil Registration Month.
