The PLDT High-Speed Hitters pulled off a convincing one-sided sweep over the Farm Fresh Foxies, 25-20, 25-17, 25-19, in the ongoing Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on February 4, 2025, at the Philsports Arena.
With the stellar win, the High-Speed Hitters just racked up its second straight dub following an impressive four-set outing against the Cignal HD Spikers a week ago.
Savannah Davison’s offensive clinic steered PLDT to the win as the star outside hitter uncorked 26 big points built from 23 successful attacks.
After converting three straight off-spin spikes that Farm Fresh’s backline didn’t see coming, the High-Speed Hitters continued to feed the hot hand and went to Davison which set the tone.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
That was the mantra that PLDT instilled throughout the game, keeping Davison in a heat-check after running most of their offensive plays to her.
The powerful spiker capped off her first-set performance with a clutch two-point outing in the final five-game possessions, helping PLDT gain a much-needed momentum boost heading to the next periods.
Despite any defensive adjustments that the Foxies deployed to contain Davison, the perennial star still found ways to pile up her scoring tally and delivered the knockout blow in the third set with six more markers.
Aside from her offensive showcase, Davison also put up an all-around outing of five excellent receptions, three excellent digs, and three blocks.
Backstopping Davison during PLDT’s win was veteran middle blocker Mika Reyes who chipped in 10 points derived from eight successful attacks.
Meanwhile, former DLSU standouts Erika Santos and Majoy Baron contributed nine and eight points, respectively.
“Happy naman na from the win last time, nagtutuloy-tuloy. Yung lesson lagi sa’min yung mawala yung complacency at saka maging mas maging consistent,” said PLDT head coach Rald Ricafort after the win.
