PSA Aklan Registers Over 544K for National ID

KALIBO, AKLAN — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Aklan has registered 544,235 individuals in the National ID system as of Dec. 31, 2024, representing 88.43% of the province’s population based on the 2020 Census of Population (CPH).

The registration covered all age groups, with the pilot registration of children aged 1 to 4 beginning in February 2024, followed by infants below 1 year old in November 2024.

Throughout 2024, PSA Aklan conducted various mobile registration activities, including:

  • Colocation at Family Development Sessions (FDS) organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)
  • School-based registration at Child Development Centers (CDC)
  • PhilSys on Wheels
  • Job fair programs in Kalibo

Among Aklan’s 17 local government units (LGUs), Kalibo recorded the highest number of registrants with 93,575 individuals (17.19%), followed by:

  • Malay – 53,392 registrants (9.81%)
  • Ibajay – 44,842 registrants (8.24%)

In terms of registration rates (percentage of registrants compared to the 2020 target population), the top three municipalities were:

  1. Kalibo – 104.99%
  2. Altavas – 93.46%
  3. Tangalan – 89.62%

The municipalities with the lowest registration rates were:

  • New Washington – 79.77%
  • Numancia – 78.86%
  • Balete – 78.85%

To further increase the registration rate in Aklan, PSA resumed its mobile registration in January 2025, targeting selected barangays and institutions to encourage more individuals to register for the national ID.
