A farmer was arrested in an anti-drug operation in Sibalom, Antique, on the morning of Feb. 15.
Police seized illegal drugs and an unlicensed firearm from the home of alias Edmund in Purok 1, Barangay Salvacion, Sibalom.
The operation was conducted by the Sibalom Municipal Police Station, Antique Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (APPO-PDEU), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and APPO’s Provincial Intelligence Unit.
Authorities searched the suspect’s home based on Search Warrant No. 01-2025-EJ for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Search Warrant No. 02-2025-EJ for violations of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
Recovered from the suspect were:
- A 12-gauge homemade pistolized shotgun with three rounds of ammunition
- 20 plastic sachets of suspected shabu
- Several non-drug items
The seized drugs weighed around 90 grams, with a standard drug price of PHP612,000.
The 56-year-old suspect is currently detained, and charges are being prepared against him.
