As part of its 5th-anniversary celebration, MORE Power launched the Harvest Festival to support local farmers and promote sustainability. The company has consistently engaged in environmental initiatives like tree planting, mangrove restoration, and coastal cleanups. This year, it expanded its efforts to empower the agricultural sector.
In partnership with the City Agriculture Office and Uswag Nursery, MORE Power established 15 planting plots to grow vegetables such as lettuce, pechay, bok choy, eggplant, ampalaya, and okra. The initiative aims to enhance food security, introduce modern farming techniques, and provide ongoing support to farmers.
Farmers received new seed varieties and expert guidance from Allied Botanical Corporation to adopt innovative planting methods and increase productivity.
The festival also featured hands-on farming demonstrations, allowing farmers to apply sustainable techniques firsthand. A fresh produce market gave them the opportunity to sell their harvest directly to the community. Educational sessions introduced modern farming innovations, helping farmers adapt to changing agricultural conditions and improve yields. Regular crop monitoring and support will ensure the sustainability of these efforts.

MORE Power Vice President for Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Ms. Ma. Cristina D. Cabalhin, emphasized that the company’s initiatives go beyond corporate responsibility. She highlighted that MORE Power focuses on long-term community development, collaboration, and innovation in farming. She described the Harvest Festival as a testament to the company’s dedication to sustainable growth and its ongoing support for local farmers.
Mr. Ynigo Garingalao, representing the City Government, commended MORE Power’s contributions beyond providing reliable electricity. He acknowledged its efforts in uplifting local farmers, strengthening food security, and driving community progress.
Farmers expressed their gratitude for MORE Power’s support, particularly for the seed donations and training sessions that introduced them to modern farming techniques. They found the discussions with agricultural experts practical and insightful. Farmers rated the program highly, with an average score of 9.3/10, while suggesting additional training, sustained partnerships with experts, and power support for irrigation systems.
MORE Power remains committed to fostering sustainable practices and empowering farmers, ensuring that initiatives like the Harvest Festival contribute to a greener and more food-secure Iloilo.
