BACOLOD CITY – Two men died after shooting each other in Sitio Mambucano, Barangay Cabatangan, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, early Friday.

The victims were a 32-year-old man and a 37-year-old cock farm manager, both residents of the village and fighting cock sellers.

Investigators said the 32-year-old heard someone throwing stones at his house past midnight, prompting him to check outside.

On his way, he encountered the cock farm manager, and they got into a heated argument.

Both men then drew their guns and fired at each other.

The younger man sustained a gunshot wound to the head, while the older man was shot in the chest.

Both were declared dead at a hospital.

Police recovered a 9mm Beretta pistol, two fired cartridge cases, and an empty magazine of the same firearm.

They also found an STI .45-caliber pistol, a fired cartridge case, a deformed slug, and an empty magazine of the .45-caliber firearm.

Authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the incident.

Meanwhile, a 60-year-old barangay watchman was shot dead in Barangay Consing, E.B. Magalona, on March 11.

Police said the victim and his companion were clearing a sugarcane farm drainage when three unidentified men emerged from the sugarcane field and shot him.

In Isabela town, a 34-year-old laborer was also gunned down in Barangay Maytubig on the same day.

Police said the victim was riding a motorcycle from the town proper to Barangay Tinongan when an unidentified gunman shot him.

Officers recovered four empty .45-caliber cartridge cases and two slugs from the scene.
