The Minnesota Timberwolves blasted the Brooklyn Nets, 105-90, to pick up their fourth consecutive win in the NBA regular season on April 4, 2025.

With another dub, the Timberwolves increased their chances of a sure NBA Playoff spot and has equalized the win-loss record of the current no. 6 team in the Western Conference, the Memphis Grizzlies.

However, the Wild Wild West is indeed back as the Los Angeles Clippers and the Golden State Warriors are also jockeying for a favorable position that would keep them safe from the NBA Play-In.

Despite the three other teams’ almost identical record, Minnesota’s win against the Nets was badly needed as it helped them maintain their place from sixth-eighth, still favorable spots to be in to be qualified in either a guaranteed seat in the postseason or in the NBA Play-In.

If the Timberwolves will sweep their remaining games against Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Memphis, Brooklyn, and Utah, they will have a chance to move further to the Top 5 in the West, that, if only Golden State, the Grizzlies, and the Clippers will finish below .500 in the last five NBA regular season matches.

Minnesota entered the road game against Brooklyn with a sense of urgency and pulled off a wire-to-wire victory, putting up an efficient two-way effort to maintain their dominance away from home.

Anthony Edwards shook off an injury scare in the first half after accidentally stepping onto the foot of Brooklyn’s coach Jordi Fernandez in the right baseline.

Minnesota’s franchise player quickly left and went to the locker room to have his foot checked, but returned to the court at the start of the second half.

Edwards then played as if nothing happened and capped off their fourth straight win with 28 points built from an efficient 10/15 shooting from the field.

Aside from his superb scoring display, Edwards also stuffed the stat sheets and tallied five rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block.

Backstopping Edwards was Rudy Gobert who manhandled Brooklyn’s interior with a double-double outing of 21 markers, 18 boards, and two blocks.

The defensive lynchpin only missed a single attempt out of his 10 total tries from the field and was the spark that helped Minnesota pull away midway through the second canto.

Minnesota will aim for its fifth consecutive dub on April 6, 2025, against the Philadelphia 76ers on the road. The Timberwolves will still have two remaining road games against the Bucks and the Grizzlies before flying back home against Brooklyn and the Jazz.
