Three fugitives facing sexual abuse and rape charges were arrested in separate police operations in Iloilo province on April 7.
Reports from the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) confirmed that all suspects were wanted for crimes involving sexual abuse.
The first arrest occurred at around 8:15 a.m. in Leon, Iloilo.
Officers from the Leon Municipal Police Station apprehended alias Mak-Mak, 50, a farmer from Barangay Bucari, Leon.
He was arrested based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court for sexual abuse under Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
The second arrest was carried out by the Pavia Municipal Police Station against alias Boyet, 24, of Barangay Cabugao Norte, Santa Barbara.
Boyet was apprehended at Purok IV, Pavia, at around 6:20 p.m.
He is accused of eight counts of rape by carnal knowledge under Article 266-A(1) in relation to Article 266-B of the Revised Penal Code.
His cases are filed under Criminal Case Numbers CICL 79-24 through CICL 86-24.
Judge Regina Centenera Galang-Guarin of the Regional Trial Court Branch 30 in Iloilo City issued the arrest warrant on Sept. 9, 2024.
No bail was recommended for his temporary release.
In a related operation, Santa Barbara police arrested alias K-Lou, 22, also a resident of Barangay Cabugao Norte, Santa Barbara.
K-Lou is facing rape charges under a warrant issued by the same court.
All three suspects are now in police custody and will be turned over to the appropriate court.
