Iloilo’s No. 5 Most Wanted Nabbed for Rape

One of Iloilo province’s most wanted individuals was arrested on the afternoon of May 4 in Maasin, Iloilo.

Alias John, 22, was apprehended at his residence in Barangay Punong, Maasin.

The Maasin Municipal Police Station served an arrest warrant for rape by carnal knowledge under Article 266-A, Paragraph 1 of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act 8353 and in relation to Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).

The warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 76 in Janiuay, Iloilo.

No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.

John, ranked as the fifth most wanted person in the province, is now in custody at the Maasin MPS custodial facility pending case processing.

Col. Bayani Razalan, director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office, commended the arresting team and reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to pursuing fugitives.

He said police will continue tracking wanted persons despite other duties.

Razalan also encouraged the public to support IPPO’s efforts by reporting the whereabouts of fugitives to help maintain peace and security in Iloilo.
