As part of the DTI-SM Prime Business Resilience Program for MSMEs, the Department of Trade and Industry Iloilo Provincial Office, through DTI Region 6 and in partnership with SM Prime Holdings Inc., held a Business Resiliency Seminar and Business Continuity Planning Workshop on May 2, 2025, at SM City Iloilo.
The initiative aimed to equip micro, small and medium enterprises with practical tools to develop business continuity plans, which are essential for maintaining operations during disasters, economic shocks and other disruptions.
Aligned with a nationwide goal to train more than 6,000 MSMEs by 2027 under a memorandum of understanding signed in 2024, the program also offered branding consultancy, advocacy for MSME empowerment and networking opportunities.
These additional services help participants enhance market visibility, join policy discussions and connect with potential partners and mentors.
Provincial Director Ma. Dinda R. Tamayo opened the event, saying, “This is more than just disaster preparedness. It’s about helping our MSMEs become stronger, more competitive and future-ready.”
Lakambini T. Regalado, unit head of the Business Development Division of DTI Iloilo, served as a resource speaker alongside Negosyo Center business counselors Eden Perez and Katherine Layes.
Through capacity-building efforts like this, DTI Iloilo reaffirms its commitment to the growth and sustainability of the local business sector, empowering entrepreneurs to thrive—not just survive.
