DTI Guimaras brings BIZBOOST to Nueva Valencia

The Department of Trade and Industry in Guimaras conducted BIZBOOST: Navigating Government Programs for MSMEs on March 6, 2026, at the OMAS Building in Nueva Valencia, with 95 potential and existing micro, small and medium enterprises participating.

The activity aimed to help entrepreneurs access government programs, comply with regulatory requirements and explore financing opportunities to strengthen and expand their businesses.

In her message, Juvy Benliro, officer in charge of DTI Guimaras, emphasized the importance of collaboration among government agencies in supporting MSMEs through business registration, compliance assistance and financial support.

On behalf of Mayor Emmanuel Galila, Zurenie G. Zaldivar, acting municipal administrator of Nueva Valencia, expressed the local government unit’s support and encouraged MSMEs to take advantage of government programs to grow and improve their enterprises.

Participating agencies also presented programs and services designed to assist MSMEs.

The DTI discussed business name registration and barangay micro business enterprise, or BMBE, applications.

DOLE discussed labor compliance and employee welfare guidance.

The BFP discussed fire safety compliance and the process for securing a Fire Safety Inspection Certificate.

DICT discussed digitalization and information and communications technology tools for business operations.

The Land Bank of the Philippines discussed financing and loan programs for entrepreneurs while SB Corp. discussed MSME loan assistance programs.

The Business Permits and Licensing Office discussed business permit and licensing procedures.

The BIZBOOST activity reflects the government’s continuing push to make business support services more accessible to local enterprises, particularly in provincial areas.

Under DTI programs, MSMEs may register business names through the agency’s Business Name Registration System, while eligible firms may also apply for BMBE incentives intended to support small businesses.

SB Corp., the government’s financing arm for MSMEs, also offers loan programs for qualified enterprises, including working capital and expansion support.

In her closing message, Rejoice Orquia, a trade-industry development specialist at DTI Guimaras, thanked the MSMEs for their active participation and encouraged them to maximize available government programs and one-on-one consultations to support business growth.

DTI Guimaras also extended its appreciation to the participating agencies for their support and collaboration.

The agency said DTI and its partners remain committed to serving MSMEs and strengthening their role in the economic growth and development of Guimaras.
