A Nail-Biting Finish Expected at RSCUAA VI 2024

The 2024 RSCUAA VI Sports Festival has delivered intense competition, with universities battling for dominance as the medal race tightens.

Early leaders, the WVSU West Marals, started strong, topping the leaderboard on December 17 and maintaining their position into the following day. However, by the afternoon of December 18, the Capiz State University (CapSU) Stingrays made an unprecedented surge, overtaking WVSU with a series of stellar performances.

SUNN emerged as a surprising contender by December 19, climbing the ranks with a strong midday push, underscoring their determination and resilience.

As of 5 p.m. today, the host school, ISUFST, made a remarkable leap in the medal tally. The ISDA Blue Thunders came within striking distance of the leading institutions, fueled by their standout performance in Arnis. The team secured 16 medals, including two golds from Mark Vincent Asumbra and Rhea Grace Omison in the Live Stick category, highlighting their dominance.

Meanwhile, WVSU West Marals continued to shine in the Dance Sport Competition, sweeping both the Latin American and Modern Standard categories. Their pairs took gold and bronze in Latin American and claimed the top two spots in Modern Standard, showcasing their exceptional skill and dedication to the sport.

Despite WVSU and ISAT-U TechnoBees holding firm in the top three positions, CapSU Stingrays demonstrated unmatched swiftness in claiming and retaining the top spot.

The awards in dancesport and arnis represent only part of the festival’s achievements, as athletes continue to push their limits and deliver breathtaking performances across events.

The leaderboard evolves with each competition, reflecting the fierce determination of participants to bring home gold medals for their institutions.
