After Laguna was placed in a total lockdown due to the rising number of patients who tested positive for COVID-19, Gilas cadet and Alaska Aces star Abu Tratter couldn’t help to see his fellow Laguna natives suffer.

To give back and help, Tratter started to prepare boxes of relief goods enough for 50 families in Laguna affected by the pandemic.

Tratter’s initiative made him one of the few PBA players to do such drive and help the community amid the rising COVID-19 crisis.

Also, Tratter’s PBA team, the Aces, made their own fund-raising event to help the affected families through their head coach’s initiative, Jeff Cariaso.

The Gilas cadet expressed his sentiments that he just can’t sit and hear the news affecting his fellow kababayans, so it’s better to show action by helping them recover.

“The fight against hunger was here before the pandemic and going to be hereafter. It’s our responsibility to take care of those less fortunate, no matter how small you think it is!” Tratter wrote on his Instagram account.
