Coach Franz Pumaren and the Adamson Soaring Falcons have been working silently this off-season and surprised the UAAP community by landing Ateneo Blue Eaglet’s team captain Joaquin Jaymalin.
The signing of Jaymalin caught most in the UAAP community off-guard as they expected him to continue his schooling in Ateneo.
Despite being a rookie, coach Pumaren is expecting the former Eaglet to provide immediate impact to the team.
With Jaymalin’s experience as a leader of the Ateneo high school basketball team, the Adamson coaching staff feels confident that they can compete with the best teams in the UAAP.
Averaging 6.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 21 minutes of action, the 6’1’’ forward is also a solid wing defender and can body up forwards with his strong upper body and leaping ability.
Jaymalin will be joining the youthful Adamson squad and will reinforce the dynamic Jerrick Ahanmisi together with Joem Sabandal and AP Manlapaz.
Aside from Sabandal and Manlapaz, the Soaring Falcons was also able to get the services of RV Yanes and Jhon Calisay, both from the Technological Institute of the Philippines.
