Adriatic Gate Container Terminal (AGCT) has enhanced its community-friendly operations by installing white noise reversing alarms on two rail-mounted gantry cranes (RMGs).
The cranes, located near residential areas, now feature advanced alarm systems designed to reduce noise pollution. White noise alarms emit a softer, localized sound resembling a gentle hiss, unlike the high-pitched beeps of traditional alarms. The directional sound minimizes noise spillover beyond the terminal.
These alarms automatically adjust their volume based on the time of day and ambient noise levels, ensuring quieter operations at night while maintaining safety standards. This innovation reduces disturbances for nearby residents and enhances safety by providing a continuous, easily locatable sound. Workers and pedestrians can identify moving equipment more effectively, even in low-visibility conditions.
The white noise alarms comply with local noise regulations, demonstrating AGCT’s commitment to environmental responsibility. Supported by technology from Brigade Electronics, the initiative underscores the terminal’s leadership in Croatia’s port and logistics sector and its dedication to balancing industrial operations with community needs.
Through this initiative, AGCT reaffirms its focus on operational efficiency, safety, and community well-being, fostering sustainable relationships with its neighboring communities.
